Project: Omnibird is a research and development project focusing on the advancement of portable video recording devices for traffic data collection.
Owner, Jerry J Morris is well versed in the traffic research industry having now successfuly owned his company Field Data Services of AZ Inc for over a decade. Jerry noticed obvious flaws in current technology and set out to create a rechargeable device that can record data consistently for 72 hours. He also invisioned it being functional, affordable, and durable.
Project Omnibirds newest development Unit-XII is a portable video TMC device that is revolutionizing the traffic data industry. Unit-XII far exceeds the target of 72hrs of constant record time. The importance of which is so that the unit can be set on a Monday, programed to record Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and then be picked up on Friday. This allows you to capture the most valuable days of the week with one field tech on one trip.
The future is endless for Project: Omnibird as it evolves along side of video technology. Its next objective is a more advanced unit that is smaller, lighter, and more durable. While also incorporating license plate reading technology.
